RHMC Commemorative Plaques

Last year we were honoured to donate custom room plaques to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. The charity provides a ‘home away from home’ for families with children in hospital, often having to travel long distances for treatment.

We donated several plaques to the Cardiff house towards the end of 2020. The house is located next to the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital, and provides 30 en suite bedrooms, communal spaces including a kitchen and living area as well as laundry facilities, offering all you need to live comfortably without the worry of travelling to and from your house.

RHMC Commemorative Plaques Crafted From Welsh Slate

Each plaque was crafted from 5mm Welsh Slate with a chipped rustic edge, producing a stunning end result. Each individual plaque detailed bespoke artwork relating specifically to the sponsor, which was then hand-painted by our talented artisan painter, who expertly painted the face of Otis Bowie Earls, a young boy who spent 115 days at the house, and now sponsors the Pen-Y-Fan room.

Unique Slate Plaques For Fundraisers

When a fundraiser reaches over £5000, they are presented with a commemorative plaque displayed outside a room of their choice. Each plaque featured a different design relating to the sponsor including the plaque that was crafted to honour a sponsorship by Otis, who raised over £6000 for the charity in memory of his cousin, now sponsoring a room for families like his own.

Plaques Proudly Displayed For Each Room

We were kindly invited to visit the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Cardiff this week to see the plaques proudly in place. Each plaque had been set up outside the sponsoring room, adding a lovely touch and story to each room, whilst giving the families who stay an insight into who has worked with the charity to make it all possible.

It was a pleasure to visit The Ronald McDonald Charity House in Cardiff and see the plaques we donated in use. The facilities on site are truly amazing and it was great to see families enjoying the use of the facilities the charity has to offer. We are proud to support such a fantastic charity and hope to work with them again in the future.
