FAW WELSH SLATE TROPHIES

Here at Stone Sign Company, we are incredibly proud to have worked on a range of prestige stonemasonry projects, including the Welsh Slate trophies we created for the FAW Awards back in 2019.

Our sister company, Morgans Consult, were commissioned to help with the Football Association of Wales Awards in 2019. Along with a range of signage and graphics for Hensol Castle in the Vale Resort, where the award ceremony was held, they were asked to create the trophies that would be handed out at the ceremony.  

To meet the brief of creating a set of award trophies that honour the calibre of Welsh talent, Morgans Consult decided to use quality Welsh Slate. To achieve this design, we were asked to create the trophies using the expertise of our in-house craftsmen.

All engraving was carried out by our specialist stonemasons and either left without infill for an attractive natural finish or gilded with luxury gold leaf. The exclusive Lifetime Achievement award was capped with pure 23.5 carat gold leaf gilding to highlight the incredible significance of this accomplishment, while the other awards all have a natural slate riven cut-off on the top. 

To pay homage to the natural beauty of Wales, we engraved an outline of the Snowdon mountain range on the rear of the awards, which is only complete when all of the awards are lined up together.  

We were honoured to be involved in creating the trophies for this prestigious event, and are incredibly proud of the amazing craftsmanship of each design. Our team have honed their skills from over two centuries of stonemasonry, and use that expertise to bring almost any idea to life. From large stone boulders and monoliths to intricate stone plaques and trophies, we have the capability to create truly outstanding, high quality designs.
